Mess with heads in GNOG
GNOG is a VR puzzle game in which you explore a serious of puzzles in the form of colourful cartoon heads. Each face consists of a variety of different parts you can pull, spin, poke, and otherwise mess with. It isn't always clear what you're supposed to be doing; in fact, figuring that out is part of the puzzle.
A world of neon nonsense
In addition to its enigmatic puzzles, GNOG stands out because of its distinctive visual style, a brilliantly colourful world full of day-glo colours and designs influenced by tribal art, Keith Haring and more. The result is a game that's strangely compelling; even though the puzzles are never explained, the 3D gadgets end up having a visual logic that makes it possible to solve them even without words. In some cases, you'll have to look at the whole level for visual clues that give you a hint about how the head's theme relates to solving the puzzle.
A unique puzzle game
GNOG is a game that defies explanation. If you like puzzle games, or just like seeing innovative game design, it's well worth checking out. It does have some drawbacks, such as a disappointingly short length.
